Formal Report on MD School Redistricting
This formal report shows my capacity for technical writing on a complex, multilayered topic.
Written for the Board of Education of a public school system, this report includes critical elements like a cover page, table of contents, and executive summary that make the subject clear and easy to navigate for its busy audience.
The report investigates the claims made about this controversial redistricting plan from all sides, including the County Superintendent who proposed the plan and community members and official who opposed it.
I kept a neutral, professional tone, as this report was meant to be expository rather than persuasive.
Also, while writing this report, I created visual figures and a graph to illustrate my points more effectively, and I also referenced peer-reviewed studies and conducted a Subject Matter Expert interview with an expert researcher and lecturer in the education and public policy field.
